What to do

We recommend the following “weekend program” for you to add to the enjoyment of attending our wedding!

#boltagram

Friday, August 8th

Get ready for an evening reception in Boltaña at 8pm (location to be announced). We call it “White Night” so stick to the dress code (dress casually but in WHITE) in honor of the snow-capped winter mountains in the Pyrenees!

Saturday, August 9th

Our “big day” at last! While we’re busy making last minute preparations for the wedding, we suggest you visit the National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido that morning in 4x4 vehicles.

The visit starts in the town of Torla and drives through memorable heights of the famous valley with breathtaking views. The Miradores de Ordesa route visit takes 3-4 hours. To sign up, click here and fill out the form. Depending on the number of people choosing this option, we will do our best to negotiate the “best” price for everyone.

If you’ve already been to Ordesa or prefer other options, here are some for you to consider:

  • Visit the town of Boltaña and surroundings

Walk the streets of the old town center with its stoned front houses. Visit 16th century St. Peter’s church. Climb to the ancient 11th century castle ruins and later cool off swimming in one of the ponds. If you’ve still got extra time, visit the neighboring towns of Sieste and San Martin de Morcat.

  • The Canyon of Añisclo

A short car ride away will take you to one of the most scenic roads near Escalona (5km from Ainsa). See the deep Bellós river’s gorge and feel the sense of vertigo the mountain walls produce. Visit a shrine in a nearby cave and see the Añisclo canyon.

  • The Pineta and Bielsa Valley

A 14km road joins Bielsa and the Spanish Parador of Monte Perdido with spectacular views along the way filled with dense pine and beech tree forested areas mixed with prairies and colorful hills.

  • The Escuain gorge

The valley or gorge of Escuain is the smallest one found within the National Park yet the views are worthwhile seeing.

  • The sierra of Guara and Alquézar

Known worldwide for its deep and spectacular canyon valleys. Alquézar, a medieval town with magnificent cultural splendor and a declared national monumental collegiate church. The city center was declared a historical and artistical monument by UNESCO in 1982.

Sunday, August 10th

The “morning after” promises to be tough after a “long night” but request an early wake-up call and visit some or all of the above if you haven’t already done so, or simply “chill-out” at the hotel’s spa if you’re staying at this premises. To make reservations for use of the spa, call +34 974 508 004.

We wish you a pleasant stay in the Pyrenees!
